The Government of Orissa (GoO) set up the Orissa Watershed Development Mission (OWDM) in August 2000. The OWDM is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act. OWDM was created to plan, coordinate, supervise and monitor all watershed projects in Orissa.

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the United Kingdom's government department responsible for promoting development and the reduction of poverty. The central focus of the policy set out in the White Paper published in November 1997, is a commitment to the internationally agreed target to halve the proportion of people living in extreme poverty by 2015, together with associated targets including basic health-care provision and universal access to primary education by the same date.

Natural Resources International Limited (NR International) specialises in managing programmes and projects in the natural resources, environmental and rural developments sectors, and in such cross-cutting areas as institutional development. The company is owned by the University of Edinburgh, the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine and the University of Greenwich, and draws on the expertise of these and other institutions, both in the UK and overseas.

Natural Resouces Institute (NRI) is a School of the University of Greenwich in England. It is an internationally recognized centre for research, consultancy and education for the management of natural and human resources, particularly in tropical and subtropical countries. The Institute has about 100 scientific, academic and technical staff in the natural and social sciences. NRI works in partnership with people from major international and national development agencies, community-based organizations and small-to-medium enterprises.

Wye at Imperial is situated within Imperial College, University of London. Wye builds on the long standing involvement in development by Imperial College and the former Centre for Development and Poverty Reduction at Wye College. This has given Wye a unique opportunity to develop and apply interdisciplinary analysis of problems among leading international researchers in different fields. Wye makes a distinctive contribution as a centre of excellence for interdisciplinary research, teaching and advice in developing and applying the natural and social sciences to international development and poverty reduction.
